Save & Import Your Wireless Network Settings in Windows 7

If you want your current network setting on all system to avoid security key typing and memorizing, you can easily export and import network settings from one system to another running XP, Vista or windows. You can save the setting on flash drive & import it by running the setup on required system.

Step by Step

Step 1

Open the Network & Sharing Centre by clicking wireless icon clip_image002[12]on system tray. A pop-up screen will appear as shown below.

Note: Alternately you can also access Network & Sharing Centre from, Start-> Control Panel->Network and Internet -> Network Sharing Centre

Step 2

In Network & Sharing Centre screen, Click Manage Wireless Networks option.

Manage Wireless network screen will appear showing the list of current available network connections; double-click on any desired network connection from the list.

The selected network properties screen will appear. You can now click Copy the network profile to USB flash drive option from the screen.

Step 5

A wizard screen will appear. Next button will be disabled until USB drive is detected by your system. As you will connect USB drive with system, Next button will enabled.

Step 6

On Next button press, system will copy the setting to the flash drive, it will take few minutes .After a while screen showing successful copying of setting has taken place. Press close button.

Step 7

For Import Network Settings, now check USB drive folder, it will contain an exe file of setupSKN.exe along with folder SMRTNTKY. This file contains the setting of network connection.

Step 8

Whenever you require existing network setting, on different network or system, plug-in the USB drive and run setupSKN.exe setup from the file. A wizard will appear confirming to run it.

Step 9

As user will press “Yes” button, it will successfully add the existing setting to the required system. Click Ok button.

This procedure will help you to get rid of memorizing long authenticated keys; this technique & trick is helpful for both public and hidden wireless
