Optimize Window 7 for Better Performance

Optimization increase the efficiency, here are the following steps which may increase the performance of windows 7

Step 1

When there is less file searches in windows, disable the Search Indexing option to improve efficiency

a)    Right click on Computer icon & select Manage option. Click Services & Application->Services option.
b)    List will appear on right pan. Double click “Window Search option”. A property window will appear.
c)    In “Startup type” choose Disabled option press Apply & then Ok

Step 2

Change Aero themes to basic & High Contrast themes will add more boost to its speed. Right click on desktop and select Personalize option. Select none screen saver, no sound, & basic window color.

Step 3

Disable the useless Visual Effects in to Speed Up more

a)    Right click on Computer icon, & select Properties option.
b)    System Properties screen will appear, Press Setting button under Performance section.
c)    Performance option screen will appear, uncheck all the option under Custom feature except the last four options
d)    Press Apply & then Ok button
e)    Restart your system

Step 4

To Disable the Sidebar, Aero Peek and Aero Snap features

a)    From Control Panel ->Ease of Access Center icon.
b)    Click” Make it easier to focus on tasks ” option
c)    Unselect check box saying” Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen”.

d)    Right click on taskbar and select” Properties “.
e)    Uncheck” Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop” option

Step 5

Change the Power Plan to Maximum Performance

a)    From Control Panel -> Power Options feature
b)    Press Show additional option, click Change plan settings link

c)    Activate” High Performance” plan by pressing change settings that are currently available link. You can now change it accordingly.

Step 6

Disable the Thumbnail Preview Feature to speed up File browsing
a)    Click Computer icon and hit “Organize” drop-down menu and select the “Folder and Search options”
b)    In Folder option press “View” tab and select the checkbox showing “Always show icons, never thumbnails” checkbox.

Step 7

Another way to increase performance of window 7, from Control panel -> Performance Information & Tools. In left navigation pan, select the options one by one and perform optimization.
