Personalize the Windows Command Prompt

This tutorial will help you to personalize Command line interfaces. By default, Windows Command Prompt is white text on a black background, if you want to add some color and change the font style &  size, follow the below steps.

Step 1: Change Colors Through Command

Type the command color/? & press Enter, a list of colors codes will appear. Enter example value “Color fc”.

You can create custom interface for command prompt by giving color codes and combination of these code.

Step 3: Personalize Command Prompt without Commands

This method is more easy and convenient; you can also change the color without entering commands.  Click on the Command Prompt icon in title bar on the top left corner of the window and select Properties option.

Step 4:

You can change the font, layout, colors and other options. In Colors tab, choose the color one by one for the screen text and background.  Press Ok button. Alternately, you can also make your own color combination schemes by selecting color values.

Step 5:

In the Properties, change your Command Prompt font from the font tab if required.  Choose any required font style and size from list.

Note:

These properties customizations will be saved and any time Command Prompt is opened. But customizations using commands are only for that session.
