Add the Recycle Bin to Taskbar in Windows 7

This tutorial will help you to access the Recycle Bin from the Task bar. For this, shortcut will be added to the task bar.

Step 1

Right click any where in Desktop, and select shortcut option. A create shortcut window will appear.

Step 2

In the location filed type: explorer.exe shell:RecycleBinFolder. Press Next button.

Step 3

Enter a name for newly created shortcut.  When Done, Press Finish button.

Step 4

By default, folder icon will be shown. To change the icon to standard recycle bin icon, Right-click on the new shortcut and select Properties option.

Step 5

In Trash Bin Properties window, Press Change Icon button

Step 6

Type %SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll in the Look for icons in this file box, and press the Enter key on your keyboard. Scroll till you find Recycle Bin icon and click Ok.

Step 8

Trash Bin (Recycle Bin) shortcut has the correct icon. Multiple shortcuts for recycle bin can be created with different names.

Step 9

Now you can have trash bin icon on task bar by simple dragging it to task bar or right-click the icon & select Pin to Task bar option
